5) Centrer l’intervention sur la résolution de problèmes

La relation conflictuelle entre les parents les empêche de se centrer autour des solutions. L’intervention auprès de ces familles devrait leur permettre de s’éloigner des discussions autour des éléments conflictuels pour mettre davantage l’accent vers les solutions concrètes à mettre en place.

Selon les participants à l’activité thématique, lorsque le conflit empêche les parents de s’investir dans la thérapie, le rôle des intervenants est de les ramener sur la raison même de la thérapie, soit les besoins et les difficultés de l’enfant.  Mettre le focus sur l’enfant permet de mettre de côté les dissensions pour mettre l’emphase sur les besoins de l’enfant.

Une participante propose comme stratégie de faire alliance avec l’école pour amener les parents à  se rendre compte concrètement des besoins de l’enfant.

Une autre participante propose l’utilisation de la  technique de la « chaise vide ». Cette technique permet aux parents de se représenter l’enfant et de se demander ce qu’il aurait à dire. Cette technique favorise l’élargissement  de la discussion en dehors de la discorde entre parents et  favorise ainsi la circulation des discours.
